Vendors of snack food packaging are developing recyclable, biodegradable and reusable products to expand their customer base. KYSU – whose products include freeze-dried fruits and chocolates – has unveiled packaging made entirely from recycled materials, and Bad Monkey Popcorn has created compostable packaging for one of the world’s most popular snack foods.

This strategic move aims to bolster Revolution’s commitment to sustainable loop solutions and expand its recycling capabilities, particularly in the production of clear food-grade PCR for flexible food packaging and other applications. 

Safe for use with hot or ambient dishes, the trays are well suited to Quick Service Restaurants (QSR), street food and event catering, with early interest from sports stadiums and high-end burger chains.

Winpak will utilize NOVA’s recycled polyethylene (rPE) to manufacture and distribute high-quality packaging materials for the protection of perishable foods, beverages, and personal care products.

The recycled film has been tested for mass production purposes at TOPPAN packaging facilities, with the results determining it suitable for mass production processes such as printing, laminating, and pouch forming.

By offering consumers the option to reuse the packaging, the company addresses the urgent issue of plastic pollution in the United States while providing convenient storage solutions.

The extension to the Encore range of sustainable BOPP films include the use of chemical recycled polymer for food contact applications and the addition of mechanically recycled PCR for non-food.

Additional capacity at plants in U.K., Germany and Poland will support demand for high-performance films made with recycled content.

The MOU with SK will enable Amcor to provide access to packaging solutions using recycled content for food and healthcare customers in key markets in Asia Pacific.

Now incorporating recycled content, both products help meet customer and consumer demands for products with increased recycled content.
